"The Nations of the Sacred Lands" " A General Principals"

www.biblicalg2.blogspot.com The Arabic translation of the contents in the Arabic Parallel Blog         The reader of the "Torah" may misunderstand some of the social events , which recorded in the holy book , due to his modern conceptions , about the social orders of the old nations , who lived in the sacred land during that times of age , therefore he must study first , the social history of the old communities , who have dwelt in the area , the reader can reach to the right understanding to the old social state , using the "torah" itself , without any added references , but it takes a long time , to put the informations which you understand, in your memory archive , to reach at the end , to the general figure , of the old societies state , that is because the purpose of the "Torah" , was not to write a book of social affairs , but it reflects it faithfully , and when you want to know something about the society of the "Torah" to follow it , you must be patient to have a better understanding , to the different events , which have been recorded , the first mistake which may occur during the fast reading , is to imagine that the expression "The Lands of Canaan" is an expression which expresses a conception of a country , ruled by a Canaanite leader under a political authorities or laws , and that the majority of the inhabitants are Canaanite people . it is a common fault and popular mistake and error . You will find in the same time that the same land , was called the "Palestinian lands ", sometimes also called "Hittites lands " and so on . It is clear that the modern conception of the country , have not born yet, during that historical times , which have been recorded in the "Torah", The conception of the systematic authorized government as a political system , were in the "Nile Valley" where it was "Egypt" and the civilization of the "Egypt of the Pharaohs" and the "Valley of Tigris and Euphrates Rivers " where it was the civilization of the "Mesopotamia "  . The conception of the country as a political unity , have begun by "Nimrod" in the "Mesopotamian City", they called it "Babel" and from it all the nations spread out , with a distinct languages , to live whenever they went , see Genesis 10.10,11 , 11.9 . therefore "Nimrod" was the first king and "Babel " was the first capital , which have a distinct borders , reached to the lands of "Shinar" .

The sons of "Mizraim" have chosen the "Nile Valley":they have the same attitudes , of building a political unity , to create a private country , inside a limited border , they released it by " Mina- Narmer " the first pharaoh , who reigned "Egypt" as a political united unity . the rest of the nations , in spite of they had the same hopes to build a great border unite , to prove their sovereignty ,politically , military , and also with a united cultural theory , to be similar to the great two civilized countries , in the "Mesopotamia " and "Egypt".
We must know that the valleys of the rivers , gave the country its real power , because it gave the people , the stability and the continuous source of water , to cultivate their lands, and establish an economic wealth , which enables them to build the army ,to defend against the attacks of the invaders who aimed to take their wealth , and  also established the different authorities to collect the taxes and build the temples and the schools and the tombs .....etc, .
Some of the short rivers in the area between the two civilizations like in the "Jordan Valley" where the "Amoritees " built their city "Shenir" which changed to be "Hermon" Dt 3.9 , "Abanah" and "Pharpar" valleys where the "Arameans" built their civilization, which have reached its top during the days of the kings II Kn 5.12 .
The remained group of people, were scattering here and there depending on the "Wells" (see the figure above) like "Abraham" and "Isac", they dug their well(see Genesis 26.18-25) .
The wells were the central place , where the people lived near the well, to cultivate their limited lands, and grow the little numbers of the cattle and sheep ,The owner of the well was the boss , or the chief or the king or any chosen title by his people, he lived there with his small or large group or family .
The wells were the causes of the wars , like what we learnt from the Bible during the life of "Abraham", the wars were depending on the wealth of the owners of the wells because it enables them to buy the slaves, to be under the orders of the owner of the well, see Genesis 14.14 , the confederate Agreements were established in that time , to collect the power of the owner's slaves together to face the enemies , see Genesis 14.13 .
As a result of this we have two principles :-
(1)The old nations lived where they found a  source of water , the greater the source was , the greater the civilization and the power for the nation increased, and the greater was its force and wealth .
(2) The little groups of people between the two great old civilizations were living a life of the desert inhabitants around wells, For example, if a group of Canaanite people lived around their well and called the land "the land of Canaan", there were beside them at a distance about 10 miles live a Palestinian group ,called their land "The Land of Palestine " perhaps near those after 20 or 40 miles another Canaanite or Jebusite ..etc,.
They lived their life separately , and lived in their lands , around their well .        Therefore. let us study every nation separately also.
Thank you . Do not forget to comment .                                                 Rev. Joseph .
